Uniform:

Training Uniform: The prescribed ARMA training uniform consists of solid black athletic work out pants and a solid red t-shirt or sweatshirt or official logo red shirt with socks in any combination of red, black, or white. ARMA Members customarily wear a solid red t-shirt with solid black sweat pants for practice. Additionally, our ARMA logo red shirt represents both our club as an organization and the Associate's status as an associate member. The logo red shirt is the official training uniform for the ARMA Guam Study Group. The training uniform for non-ARMA members is the same except that a white t-shirt or sweatshirt is worn instead of the logo red shirt. Footwear must not expose any toes and the soles must be thin and flat. Cut-off shirts, tank tops, military cargo pocket trousers, shorts, and combat boots are prohibited.

Formal Uniform: ARMA formal uniforms (historical-style red blouses and knee-high baggy black pantaloons) are entirely optional. ARMA's official colors of Red and Black were colors which much of our source literature was traditionally written in. For ARMA, the colors of red and black also symbolize the blood, dirt, and sweat that historical fighters experienced in pursuit of their martial disciplines.

Equipment: A limited amount of training and protective equipment is available for student use for every class. It doesn't take a lot of equipment to get started in historical fencing, but it is important that you get off on the right foot. Students are encouraged to obtain the following protective equipment:

  • Fencing Mask
  • Lacrosse Gloves
  • Elbow and Knee Pads
  • Protective Cup
